Problems with the elbow wrist or hand can occur following a traumatic incident, such as falling over and breaking a bone (e.g. radial head fracture, capitate fracture).
However, a lot of injuries associated with the lower arm can be associated to over-use, whether that be from sport (e.g. tendinitis such as tennis or golfer’s elbow) or from work (DeQuiverian’s Tenosynovitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.).
Arthritis can also affect this area of the body, particularly the hand, and can lead to painful inflammation and stiffness in the joints.
